Welcome to Carbon Upscale
Jake HobbsCTO
A warm welcome from our team. Learn about our mission to make carbon footprint tracking transparent with registry-backed credits and on-chain proof.
Welcome
Thank you for visiting Carbon Upscale. Whether you found us through a friend, stumbled across our site, or are exploring ways to take climate action—I'm genuinely glad you're here.
My name is Jake, and I'm one of the people building this platform. I wanted to take a moment to share what we're working on, why it matters, and how you can be part of it.
Our Mission
Carbon Upscale exists to make understanding and reducing your carbon footprint straightforward and accessible. We help individuals and businesses:
- Calculate their carbon footprint through our guided assessment
- Explore verified carbon credit projects backed by registries like Verra and Gold Standard
- Take transparent action with every purchase and retirement recorded on Base Mainnet for full accountability
Every project we list is backed by established registries, and we retire credits in the same blockchain transaction. Your receipt includes the BaseScan transaction hash so you can verify the impact yourself.
We believe that climate action should be understandable, verifiable, and available to everyone—not just large corporations with dedicated sustainability teams.
Why This Matters
The science is clear. According to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), global greenhouse gas emissions need to be reduced by 43% by 2030 compared to 2019 levels to limit warming to 1.5°C. This is an ambitious target that requires action at every level—governments, businesses, and individuals.
The voluntary carbon market is going through a quality reset. Integrity efforts like the Core Carbon Principles are pushing projects and buyers toward higher-integrity credits with clearer safeguards and disclosures. That's a good thing: it directs funding to projects that can prove real, additional impact.
Every tonne of emissions reduced or removed matters. And every person who takes action contributes to a larger movement.
How We Keep It Trustworthy
- Registry verification first: We onboard projects that are registered with established standards (Verra VCS, Gold Standard, and peers) and keep the registry metadata alongside each project.
- On-chain proof: Purchases and retirements are recorded on the Base blockchain; your receipt includes a BaseScan link to the transaction hash.
- Quality alignment: We align our screening with the Integrity Council's Core Carbon Principles and evolving buyer-claims guidance as it rolls out.
We're Just Getting Started
I'll be honest with you: we're new to this space. We don't claim to have all the answers, and we're learning alongside our community. What we do have is a commitment to transparency, quality, and continuous improvement.
We're excited about 2026. We're working on expanding our project portfolio, improving our carbon calculator, and building tools that make it easier for you to track your progress toward personal climate goals. We want to grow our impact—and we can only do that with your help.
Share With Someone You Care About
Climate action is more meaningful when we do it together. If you found this platform useful, I'd encourage you to share it with friends and family.
The holiday season is a perfect time for these conversations. Between gatherings and year-end reflections, many people are thinking about the kind of world they want to leave behind. A simple "here's something I've been exploring" can plant a seed that grows into action.
You don't need to convince anyone of anything—just share. Let people make their own decisions. Sometimes that's all it takes.
What You Can Do Today
- Take our carbon footprint quiz to understand your personal emissions
- Explore our marketplace to see the verified projects we work with
- Share this site with one person who might be interested
That's it. No pressure. Every step counts.
Thank You
Thank you for taking the time to learn about what we're building. Whether you decide to take action today or just bookmark us for later, I appreciate your attention.
We're here because we believe small actions, multiplied across many people, can add up to something meaningful. I hope you'll be part of that.
— Jake
